KCRA 3 Blood Drive for Life

In honor of National Blood Donor Month, the Sacramento-area community can resolve to save lives by giving blood at the 2017 KCRA 3 Blood Drive for Life with BloodSource at the Sacramento Central YMCA on Friday, January 6. Since 2002, more than 9,000 participants have joined BloodSource and KCRA 3 in saving lives. Blood Drive for Life participants will receive a commemorative KCRA 3 Blood Drive for Life T-shirt, MyBloodSource Rewards redeemable online for a variety of great items, one free ticket to the International Sportsmen’s Exposition in Sacramento (while supplies last), and a Chipotle buy one get one free voucher (while supplies last). BloodSource will also offer registration for the Be The Match® marrow registry at no cost for those ages 18-44 years old – another way to save lives. Participants can donate blood to help someone in need, such as Sacramento resident Steven Lee, who was a senior in high school when diagnosed with leukemia. The “Ironman” has fought his way through intense chemotherapy, radiation treatments and two marrow transplants. Generous blood donors helped Steven survive and he now looks forward to a healthy future.
