05.11.12 - HOW EDUCATION WILL POWER THE NEXT ECONOMY
The May 11 Convergence program will focus on the Next Economy initiative. Next Economy is a regional economic development strategy led by the Sacramento Metro Chamber and others to identify dustry clusters in which the Capital Region has a distinct competitive edge and, by aligning programs, activities and funding, can lead to additional business formation, job production and wealth creation. Thus far, five industry clusters have been identified as driving the Sacramento Region’s next economy: Healthcare and Bioscience; Food, Farming and Agribusiness; Information Technology; Advanced Manufacturing; and Clean Energy Technology.
