The New Yorker writes that Mark Morris is "like no one else in dance--a dancemaker and a spellbinder, innovator and traditionalist, a symbol of his times." The 18-member group returns to the Sacramento region to perform in Mondavi Center's Jackson Hall, part of the Mondavi Center's Landmark Dance Series. The program will include Morris's newest work, untitled, performed to Bela Bartok's String Quartet no. 4; "Going Away Party" (1990) to music by Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys; "A Spell" (1993) to music by John Wilson; and "V" (2001) to robert Schumann's Quintet in E flat for piano and strings, op.44.
