Mandarin oranges are a winter citrus fruit grown in the foothills of Placer County. Cool nights and clean air produce juicy, sweet, and healthy-to-eat fruit. Each and every day tree-ripened fruit it picked and hand-packed. Rich in Vitamin C and Potassium, mandarins, when kept cool, retain their flavor for up to two weeks. A tinge of green is a natural trait for ripe mandarin oranges.
Expect to find locally grown persimmons, naval oranges, winter squash, Meyer lemons, kiwi pomegranates, walnuts, pears, apples and honey.
If you are looking for holiday decorating materials, pick up dried grape vines, kiwi vines, and pine cones. Some orchards will be selling Christmas greens.
