In 2001, only 14 states had identified the biosciences as an economic development opportunity. Today, 40 states are targeting the biosciences for development and all 50 states have technology-based economic development initiatives that are available to bioscience companies.

This study is the most comprehensive analysis ever done to quantify the scope and examine the impact of bioscience employment in all 50 states.
